The Church, as an institution, is created by the human response to God’s Holy Spirit calling human beings together in the service of Jesus Christ. First Congregational UCC (United Church of Christ) responds to God’s gift of the spirit in four primary ways: Worship, Education, Outreach, and Fellowship. It worships God, preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ, and practices Christ’s teachings.

Membership in this Church is open to any person who has been baptized and is received by confirmation, on confession of faith, on reaffirmation of faith, or by letter of transfer. All members shall assent to the covenant as set forth in Article III. Members shall pledge themselves to attend the services of this Church, observe its sacraments, share in its work, and contribute to its support and benevolences.

Article III of the Constitution of the Furst Congregational United Church of Christ,

Covenant

We confess our faith in God, our creator, our love for Jesus Christ our example and savior, and our willingness to be guided by the Holy spirit our comforter and sustainer. We promise as members of this church, to walk together as brothers and sisters in Christ, obedient to the teachings of the Bible and to submit to the government and discipline of this church. We do this for the glory of God, for the good of humanity, and for our mutual growth in Christian grace, seeking to do all in faith, fellowship and service, in the spirit of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
