About Us: Staff Officers Council Boards Committees |
All Committee members are elected at the annual meeting and serve three-year terms. Committee members may not be reelected to the same committee unless the member has been off that committee for one year. An exception to this is the Library Committee that serves without term limitation. The Nominating Committee The Nominating Committee is composed of six members. No more than half of its members may be concurrently serving on other boards or committees. It identifies and recruits qualified members to serve within the Church. The Membership Committee The Membership Committee is composed of six members. In concert with the minister(s), it is responsible for new member recruitment and assimilation into Church activities and fellowship. The Finance and Stewardship Committee The Finance and Stewardship Committee is composed of six members. It is responsible for management and control of the financial affairs of the Church under the direction of the Church Council. The Church Treasurer and Financial Secretary are additional members of this committee with voice but no voting privileges. The Personnel Committee The Personnel Committee is composed of three members: specifically the past moderator, the present moderator and the present vice moderator. It develops, maintains and submits personnel policies to the Church Council for approval. It develops and maintains staff performance appraisal procedures and makes an annual performance appraisal of the Minister(s) and reviews the appraisals with the Minister(s) and the Church Council in executive session. It administers employee salaries and makes salary and benefit recommendations to the Finance and Stewardship Committee. It serves as counselor in sensitive employee situations. The Audit Committee The Audit Committee is composed of three members not currently serving on the Finance and Stewardship Committee. It audits or causes to be audited the accounts of the Treasurer and Financial Secretary annually and reports the results of the committee’s audit to the congregation at the annual meeting. It provides interim audit reports to the Church Council and/or Finance and Stewardship Committee when requested. The Library Committee The Library Committee is composed of three members. Members can be elected each year for a one-year term, but can be reelected indefinitely. It serves the purpose of providing information in varied formats for the ministers, church school, organizations within the church, and individuals, both adult and children, in support of the goals and objectives of the church. The Publicity Committee The Publicity Committee is composed of members, one of whom is appointed publicity secretary. Members are responsible for promoting church visibility within the local community and developing and administering an advertising and publicity program. |
