As Christians we seek a fuller understanding of our place in the Church as the Body of Christ, and in the communities and the world in which we live. We seek this understanding by sharing our faith and knowledge with each other and by teaching the lessons of our faith to children, youth and adults, using the bible as our guide for our teachings and understanding of God’s love, purpose and mission for us.

First Congregational United Church of Christ has access to a wide array of church camp programs at two separate camps in Wisconsin, Pilgrim Center on Green Lake and Moon Beach near St. Germain, www.ucci.org . Opportunities for other Christian pilgrimages are regularly planned, organized and offered.

What do we do at camp? Have fun!

Pilgrim Center on Green Lake is primarily a Youth Camp during the summer. All ages.....Mom and Me (Dad and Me and Grandparent and Me) for kids who have finished K and 1st grade along with their mom/dad/grandparent. Half-week camps for kids who have finished 2nd or 3rd grades. Then full week camps for the others. Sometimes specialty camps like Sailing Camp....or MADD (Music, Art, Drama, and Dance) as well as "community camps". Living in cabins, eating good food, meetings lots of kids from across the state. Kids rarely leave camp not feeling sad that it has ended and they now have to say good by to new friends. Pilgrim Center is a great place to spend a week.

Moon Beach near St. Germain in the summer....the first two weeks are Youth Camp and the rest of the summer is Family Camp. The Youth camps cover all ages....a real favorite is the MADD camp at MB. Family camp is the absolutely most wonderful way to spend a week with family. Each family has a cabin (though some of the larger cabins are shared). Vespers are held at vesper point each night as the sun sets. There are camp fires, water olympics, hiking, crafts, hanging out with your family and friends, etc. Wonderful memories at MB. Long ago my children told me it was their favorite place....and it still is.

If you register by March 15th there is a $10/camper discount, and registrations made by April 15 receive a $5 discount.

The All Church Winter Retreat

We mostly relax or be busy, whatever each person wants to do. People need to show up for mealtimes on time and the rest is optional. There will be a common worship time on Sunday. Possibly a talent show Saturday night. There will be ice fishing, sledding, hiking, skating, cross country skiing (bring your own or rent in town), sitting by the fire, talking, playing games. There will be some art projects to choose from and a Journaling - Writing Your Own Mission statement project. It will be a cozy time to get to know members from church a whole lot better!
